Allergic rhinitis is caused by allergens as opposed to cold that is caused by germs. Both these problems can make you sneeze, and make your nose run and feel blocked and itchy. There are a few symptoms that can help to differentiate between these two. The best way is to avoid allergens/ triggers that cause your allergic symptoms. While it may be impossible to completely avoid all your triggers but exposure to it can certainly be reduced.
